Who Should Write Press Releases?
Wednesday, November 19th, 2008Many business owners are confused about this point. Should you write your own press releases? Should you hire someone to do them for you? There are a few factors to consider when answering this question.
Ability
Not everyone is a natural writer. If you find it difficult to put words in sentences that lure the reader, you will probably find that the press release will be more effective if left to someone who has more experience in this area.
Time vs. Money
Even if you are capable of writing your own press release and doing a good job of it, is it worth your while? It might be more cost effective to pay a professional writer to do the work so you can work on something else in your business.
Both of these are things that you need to take into account before making a decision. Another way to go is to do one press release yourself and then have a copywriter do one. You`ll find that you are quickly able to find out which of the two is more effective.
